Yo I appreciate what you were going for in that reblog, but the way domestic labour is shared is actually a massive issue in many women’s lives, and for most of us it’s not exactly peak comedy. We’re spending a lot of very real time and energy on housework that we can’t spend on anything else. Only about 20% of men do more than 45% of chores, and most of the time these men are retired, unemployed, or are surrounded by women whose jobs leave them unable to do a lot of work around the house (typically because they work at night and/or more than one job). How different do you think the average woman’s life would be if the average man did more than 30% of domestic chores? Unequal repartition of domestic labour isn’t a funny meme. Again, I appreciate that you weren’t trying to be political, but that’s the issue - that so many men seem to believe this is trivial, apolitical, unimportant, when it’s really anything but.
